The premise is similar: You answer questions taken randomly from a database that is populated by other users.
However, the Qs in AnswerStorm are all CLOSE-ENDED Qs. Meaning: YES/NO, TRUE/FALSE, THIS/THAT, 1/2/3/4/5.
When you sign up for your free account, you get access to a flash based dashboard (flash for visual appeal and animation). There's a random question for you to choose an answer to. Also, there's a rating scale for the question as well as the ability to affix a label to question. These labels are numerous and categorized:
Criticism: e.g. Confusing/Unclear wording, Spelling Errors
Praise: e.g. Thoughtful, Interesting, Funny
Flags: e.g. SPAM, Rated improperly, ADVERT
Neutral: e.g.Childish, Silly, Weird, Meme
The User can choose to engage all or none of these elements. They can answer and not rate, rate and label but not answer, etc. The User interacts with the UI as they see fit then clicks NEXT to submit and move onto the next Q. Users get points for submitting. +1 for every element interacted with. Bonus points for interaction streaks (e.g. 25 answers in a row = bonus).
This will be entertaining for people, a good way to kill time, earn points and see what kind of questions are out there. But there has to be more to keep the idea alive, people need to want to keep coming back over and over again.
Onto the submission side: Users with a free account will be limited to 1-3 Asks in a 24 hour cycle, AND they will be required to EARN those Asks by Answering Qs. Say earning 50 points gets you your first Ask (no point trade in, just collection/day), 150 your next, and 300 the third?
Aside from the fun of essentially having access to a fast, free and massive polling system for your random whims, there’s the labelling and rating feedback. It would be quite cool to see that 45% of labelling respondents thought your Q was humorous, and 65% said well worded. Average rating was a 7 (good job). --- This can all be complied into a sexy charts and graphs ala foursquare.
Speaking of foursquare: BADGES
Milestones: 100 Qs asks, 100 Qs rated, member for 1 month, 100 forums posts
Quality: X Qs rated Y and above
Quality (themed): “Comedian” badge for 5 Qs with high funny labels

Combine the popular Q&A website model with the speed of microblogging and the love of collecting stats and points!
I didn't know http://justcurio.us/ existed before I came up with the following idea, but I'm glad it does because it helps make AnswerStorm easier to explain. The premise is similar: You answer questions taken randomly from a database that is populated by other users.
